Visitor Rules and Policies
To ensure a safe, peaceful, and enjoyable experience for all of our guests, we ask that you please review our garden policies before your visit. Thank you for your cooperation in helping us preserve the beauty of Cedar Lakes Woods and Gardens!
By entering the gardens, all visitors consent to being photographed or videotaped for informational, educational, or promotional purposes.
General Garden Rules
Please help us protect our botanical displays and local wildlife by adhering to the following rules:
Protect Flora and Fauna
Picking or clipping plants and flowers is strictly prohibited. For the safety of our animals, touching or feeding the resident cats and wildlife is not allowed, and fishing gear is prohibited.
Stay Safe
Climbing on trees, rocks, ledges, or fences is not allowed. Swimming is strictly prohibited in all quarries and ponds.
Prohibited Items
Alcohol, glass items, drones, confetti, plastic scatter, glitter, and birdseed are not permitted on the premises.
Keep it Clean
Please dispose of all trash responsibly in designated receptacles.
Pet Policy
We welcome your furry friends during standard business hours! Please note that pets are NOT allowed during any special events (including our Spring Festival, Fall Festival, Reggae festival, and Christmas in the Quarry).
Pets must be leashed and under your control at all times. Retractable leashes are not permitted.
Pets must be up-to-date on vaccines.
Owners are entirely responsible for cleaning up after their pets.
If a pet shows any signs of aggression (growling, barking, snapping), the owner and pet will be asked to leave the property without a refund.
Garden Accessibility
Because Cedar Lakes Woods and Gardens is integrated into a historic lime rock quarry, our grounds are not considered handicap accessible.
The Upper Trail
Our overlook trail circling the quarry rim features ramps and offers stunning views of the lakes below. This trail contains changes in elevation, small inclines, and some rugged and bumpy surfaces. Many guests with wheelchairs and scooters successfully navigate the upper trail, but accessibility ultimately depends on the design of your mobility device.
The Lower Gardens
Accessing the lower levels of the quarry requires navigating a steep ramp. While visitors are welcome to explore the lower level, using this ramp with a wheelchair or mobile device requires strength, caution, and confidence. We recommend having someone else with you who can assist with the descent down the ramp.
Restrooms
Our restrooms at the front of the gardens were constructed with wheelchairs and powerchairs in mind and are considered fully wheelchair accessible. We also have portable restrooms near our Orchard Gardens that are not handicap accessible.
Photography Rules
To ensure the enjoyment and safety of all visitors, we ask that all photographers follow these guidelines:
Stay on the Path: Remain on designated pathways and grassy turf at all times. Do not enter flowerbeds, mulched areas, or ponds, and do not disturb plants or signage.
Attire & Belongings: Proper attire (tops, bottoms, shoes) is required. Clothing changes must be done in designated restrooms. Please keep your belongings with you; we are not responsible for storing or watching personal items.
Obstructions: Do not block entrances, pathways, or public use areas.
Props & Equipment: Drones, confetti, fake petals, and rice are prohibited.
Timing: No entry is allowed before 9:30 AM, and all visitors must exit by closing time unless a Commercial Photography Permit has been obtained.
Compliance: We reserve the right to restrict access, escort photographers off the property, or revoke access if guidelines are ignored. Guidelines are subject to change without notice.
